How it all started

Established in 1857, Peebles County Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Scotland. You can find out more about the history of cricket in Scotland by visiting Cricket Scotland’s History Page.

Our teams

During the summer, our senior team plays in the East of Scotland Cricket Association Division 7 and the Borders T20. Alongside our senior squad, we have a thriving youth section and a budding women’s team.

Junior cricket

Our volunteer coaches deliver after school cricket to primary schools in the region and we work in partnership with Peebles High School to offer taster sessions to pupils using the brand new indoor cricket nets which we were involved in installing.

Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, we have an extensive range of youth equipment (e.g. bats, helmets, gloves & pads) to make cricket as accessible as possible to young players.

Our junior section is working with Live Borders to help introduce cricket to the primary PE curriculum.

During the summer, our club offers cricket to 5-8 years olds and 8-12 year olds, via the England Cricket Board’s (ECB) highly successful All Stars & Dynamos programs.

We are always keen to hear from children, young people and parents keen to get involved. If you want to be part of youth cricket in Peebles, pease get in touch using our contact page.

Women’s cricket

Across the world, women’s cricket is one of the fastest growing and most exciting aspects of the game. Established in 2023, our budding women’s team trains at Whitestone Park every Tuesday during the summer months. We are actively seeking women who are completely new to cricket, as well as seasoned cricketers, to join our women’s team.

If you are interested in women’s cricket and would like to get involved in developing this exciting new aspect of the club, then please get in touch using our contact page.
