The 2024 season is here…nearly, and the PCCC committee has been busy planning the start of the season for seniors and juniors.
For the seniors, we’ve had a cracking winter training at Peebles High School and the brand new nets that have been installed there, which have made a real difference to our training. Our final session at the High School is Sunday 7th April 2:30-4:00pm.
After that, we have a friendly game against Dunbar on Saturday 13th April at their beautiful ground, literally a cricket ball’s throw away from the sea.
On Saturday 20th April we have a club social planned – the idea is to give the pavilion a wee spring clean and then head into Peebles to watch a football match.
Our summer nets begin at Whitestone Park on Wednesday 24th April. Last year we installed a new batting cage which has really helped us get going each evening with little faff – our previous nets had to be constructed each time and were about as much fun as putting up a tent.
That’s all before our season opener, at home on Saturday 27th April.
Meanwhile, we have cricket sessions set up for both primary and secondary school pupils. Peebles Phoenix and Junior Phoenix will be running at Whitestone Park every Friday 4:30-5:30pm from Friday 19th April. More information can be found on the Peebles Phoenix page.
